The Miller Group, as a part of its ongoing efforts to build out its specialty service offerings and expand its team, recently added two new members to its executive team with the help of BIC Recruiting.

Chris Morgan was hired as director of environmental, health, safety and transportation (EHS&T), and Jamie Black was hired as director of mechanical services. Both Morgan and Black will play instrumental roles in the company’s continued growth.

“I am very excited to have Chris and Jamie as part of the new leadership team here at The Miller Group,” said President and CEO MJ Olsson. “Not only will they bring leadership, experience and professional ethics to our team, but they are also great role models and mentors for the rest of our employees.”

“I was familiar with BIC already, and I knew how well-connected they were,” Morgan said. “I knew I could trust that BIC would know about the types of jobs I was interested in. If you’re looking for a career — not just a job — it’s important to work hand-in-hand with a recruiter who understands what drives you.”

Black had worked with BIC Recruiting previously, so he already knew where he would turn to find his new position. “I knew BIC Recruiting was the real deal,” he said. “Job seekers really need to have a relationship with a good recruiter who understands the industry, and BIC is just that.”

Miller Environmental Services began over 30 years ago, providing a full breadth of industrial cleaning and spill response services. The Miller Group was established in 2018 when Miller Environmental Services LLC acquired Belco Industrial Services LLC. The combined company provides complete turnkey industrial cleaning and mechanical solutions for its customers through expanded service lines, an expanded geographical footprint and the teamwork of leaders with hundreds of years of combined industry experience.

“We deliver maintenance, turnarounds, capital projects and emergency spill response services that are safe, reliable and cost-effective,” Olsson said.

The Miller Group is currently in the process of marrying all of its services together, and this step represents unprecedented growth for the company.

“I’m really looking forward to working hand-in-hand with our general managers and operations in evaluating how we can combine our specialty services together while taking safety to the next level,” Morgan said. “We’re looking to build out those services across all industries — refining, petrochemical, power and midstream. I am very excited to contribute to a bundled-service package offering from an EHS&T perspective. Every day is a new challenge and a new opportunity — that’s what gets me excited.”

Black said he was attracted to The Miller Group because of its team atmosphere. “I was really impressed that one of my direct reports interviewed me,” he said. “That shows the opinions of the team are really valued here.”
